New Holstein scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to hand the host Two Rivers football team a 28-20 loss on Friday.
The Raiders’ Scott Skornicka ran the ball for 151 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries while teammate Dexter Smith added 107 and two scores on 23 attempts to lead Two Rivers’ offense.
Skornicka gave the Raiders a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter after scoring from three yards out but the Huskies took a 14-6 advantage into halftime.
A Smith eight-yard touchdown run trimmed the deficit to 14-12 heading into the final frame. New Holstein responded though with a five-yard scoring run of its own just seconds into the fourth quarter to extend its lead to nine points.
The final scoring play for the Raiders, a four-yard scamper by Smith two minutes later would be as close as Two Rivers (7-2, 4-2 Eastern Wisconsin Conference) would get.
Smith led the passing attack for the Raiders, completing 14-of-26 passes for 126 yards while throwing two interceptions.
