Valders picked up its first win of the season as they dropped Sturgeon Bay 20-18 in an Olympian-Packerland Large Conference clash Friday night in Valders.

The Vikings scored the first 20 points of the contest.

Paxton Korslin got the scoring started for Valders when he broke of a 90-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Korslin struck again in the second, this time from nine yards out.

In the third quarter, Forrest Fenlon found himself on the receiving end of a 10-yard scoring strike from Korslin, making it 20-0 in favor of the home team.

But the Clippers came storming back.

Lucas Stephenson put Sturgeon Bay on the board with a nine-yard touchdown run in the third.

Stephenson would find the endzone two more times in the fourth quarter to make the score 20-18.

However, the Clippers were unable to cash in on a two-point conversion after Stephenson’s final scoring scamper, which would have tied the game.

In total, Korslin stacked up 206 rushing yards on 23 attempts. He was also an efficient 8-for-11 passing for 85 yards.
