PRESLEY ALLISON

GRAND LEDGE junior

Highlights: A star with the Comets: Allison won the balance beam and all-around categories while taking second in uneven bars and floor exercise at the East Lansing Invitational on Saturday. She helped Grand Ledge win its 76th meet in a row. She took third all-around in Division 2 at state meet last spring behind senior teammates Sara Pelter and Lauren Clark while helping Grand Ledge earn its fifth straight state title last March.

From coach Duane Haring: “She had a very good day. She has a whole new bar routine, which was her weakest event last year. She really upped that the last few months. It helped her score a lot. She also has a different beam routine, which upped her score as well. She’s always at practice. She doesn’t miss, very dedicated, wants to do well and wants the team to do well. She never gets rattled and never lets nervousness show. She’s focused and a heck of a competitor. Some kids get nervous and can’t perform. Presley can deal with that.”
