Prep girls basketball: After rally, Lincoln suffers loss

Leading 50-48 entering the fourth quarter, the Manitowoc Lincoln girls basketball team was outscored 19-10 in the final frame of a 67-60 home loss to Bay Port on Friday night.

Bay Port led 22-19 after the first quarter and 34-28 at halftime before Lincoln rallied in the third quarter.

The Ships were 9-of-12 from the free-throw line and made nine 3-pointers while Bay Port was 7-of-11 from the free-throw line and made six 3’s.

Lincoln was led in scoring by Kali Hackmann who had a team-high 18 points with three 3-pointers while teammate Shawny Gabriel added 14 points and two 3-pointers.

Also for the Ships, Alyssa Fischer had nine points on three 3-pointers and Katherine Wolowicz had eight points.

Host Chilton’s Cassie Buelow hit a 3-point basket with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers a 37-35 lead over the Jets.

Roncalli held Chilton to three points in the second quarter to lead 22-16 at halftime.

Rachel Moczynski scored 13 points to lead the Jets while teammate Catherine Taddy added nine points with one 3-pointer.

The Jets had four 3-pointers in the game as Sophie Pitz had a team-high two for her six points.

Trailing 19-13 at halftime, visiting Reedsville outscored Valders 31-18 in the second half for the win.

Reedsville was led by Riley Grimm who had 13 points and Lauren Holschbach and Shelby Otto who each added eight points. Also for the Panthers, Kayla Sheahan had seven points.

For Valders, Danelle Buck had a team-high 14 points while teammate Conner Grall added nine points. Brittany Erickson also had seven points for the Vikings.

Manitowoc Lutheran rebounded after a rough first quarter to score no less than 12 points in each subsequent quarter for the home win.

MacKayla Menges scored a team-high 15 points for the Lancers while teammate Arianna Neumeyer added 12 points, including two 3-pointers.

Hilbert was forced to foul for almost the entire final two minutes of the game as Lutheran sealed the game at the free-throw line, going 10-for-15 down the stretch.

The Wolves committed 25 team fouls compared to the Lancers’ 14.

Kiel jumped out to an early 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored host Campbellsport 20-8 in the third quarter en route to the win.

Madeline Dahmer had a team-high 16 points for Kiel and made all three of the Raiders’ 3-pointers while teammate Brooke Goehring added 14.

Also for the Raiders, Corinna Beaumont had 13 points.

Kiel was 7-of-14 from the free-throw line while Campbellsport was 1-of-2.

A Campbellsport roster, along with individual stats, were not submitted to the Herald Times Reporter as of press deadline.
