Jenna Fale scored one goal and assisted another as the Kiel girls soccer team overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat host Waupun on Tuesday 2-1.
The Raiders fell behind early when the Warriors converted a penalty kick for the halftime lead.
In the 50th minute the tide turned though, as Fale struck home a shot assisted by teammate Morgan Rabe and then Fale set up Nikki Meunier for the winning margin.
Alyssa Summers didn’t have much to do on the afternoon in net for Kiel, stopping two shots as the Raiders outshot Waupun 25-2.
Kiel returns to action on Thursday when it travels to take on Sheboygan Falls.
Kewaunee 7, Roncalli 1
Down 2-0, Roncalli’s Mary Cvetan scored a goal in the 30th minute on an assist by Lauren Clark, but the Jets couldn’t complete a comeback in the road loss.
“We are having a hard time getting out of the starting blocks because we have so many freshmen on our team,” Roncalli coach Guido Lenaerts said.
Roncalli (0-2) trailed 3-1 at halftime.
Abigail Bouril made 18 saves in net for the Jets, who next will host St. Mary Central on Thursday.
LATE MONDAY Manitowoc Lincoln 3, Freedom 3
On the road, Lincoln started with an unassisted goal scored by Abby Reinke from 25 yards out in the 11th minute.
Freedom tied the game in the last minute of the first half converting their second penalty kick of the game. Freedom scored less than a minute into the second half, but Lincoln’s Brenna Cayemburg fired in a goal in the 49th minute off an assist from Maddie Jones, knotting the game at 2-2.
Freedom then scored in the the 63rd minute but Savannah Elmore answered for the Ships 50 seconds later off a pass from Cayemburg to make it 3-3.
Courtney Griffith had 11 saves for the Ships.
