The Valders soccer team led 3-0 at halftime as it cruised past Sevastopol-Gibraltar on Tuesday 5-0.

Sydney Gutman scored a pair of goals, the 19th and 42nd minutes, to pace the Vikings while teammates Amanda Miller (24th), Morgan Kelly (33rd) and Lauren Brandl (74th) would also tally one goal each. Kelly would also add two assists while Michaela Meidl and Tessa Evenson would notch one apiece.

Alena Braun was in net for Valders but didn’t face a single shot all game.

It was senior night for Valders players Yinling Zhang, Corina Sieber, Katie Mulhaney, Paige Neumeyer, Brandl, and Meidl. This win guarantees Valders (8-5, 4-2 Packerland Conference) a winning season.

The visiting Ships were blanked by the Redbirds in Fox River Classic Conference play.
