Prep girls soccer roundup: Valders tops host Kewaunee in OT

Angela Brandl scored twice, including the game-winning goal in overtime to help the Valders girls soccer team earn its fourth win in a row by beating host Kewaunee 3-2.

Brandl got the Vikings (4-3) back in the game after Kewaunee took a 2-0 lead into halftime, scoring in the 61st minute before teammate Sydney Gutman scored at the tail end of regulation in the 80th minute to force overtime.

The winning score was set up Paige Neumeyer gained possession at midfield for Valders, battled down the sideline to the end line and sent in the cross to the front of the net which Brandl converted with 17 seconds left in the first overtime period.

Brandl, Neumeyer and Morgan Kelly all notched assists in the game while Alena Braun made 14 saves in net for the Vikings.

Pulaski 4, Manitowoc Lincoln 1

Tied 1-1 at halftime, Pulaski scored three unanswered goals in the second half to hand Lincoln the home loss.

Pulaski scored 11 minutes into the game and the Ships tied it up at the 30th minute on an unassisted goal by Savannah Elmore.

Pulaski scored in the 43rd, 63rd and 77th minute to finish the game with all three goals coming at close range.

Courtney Griffith made 10 saves for Lincoln while the Ships were outshot 24-10.

Lincoln next plays at Bayport on Tuesday.

Sevastopol/Gibraltar 4, Roncalli 2

The host Jets were the victims of a hatrick by Sevastopol/Gibraltar’s Monica Stoneman in the loss.
