Prep girls swimming overview: Ships looking to replace 11 swimmers

Manitowoc Lincoln

Coach: Paige Cobarrubias, second year

Last year: sixth, Fox River Classic Conference

Returning letter-winners: Emily Hearley, jr.; Taylor Jurgens, jr.; Remingtyn Kirt, sr.; Allison McDougal, so.; Stephanie Roman, jr.; Breanna Ruffolo, so.; Emily Schmidt, jr.; Lauren, Solkowski, so.; Isabel Strazny, so.; Beth Verheyden, jr.; Emma Waack, jr.; Taylor Winkel, sr.;

Outlook: Lincoln lost 11 swimmers from last years team and is replacing them with three new members, which Cobarrubias feels will give everyone plenty of opportunities. Cobarrubias says the FRCC has gotten stronger with several teams adding new talent. The Ships will be led by Winkel, who was a member of the 200 medley relay team from 2012 that broke the school record at Sectionals.

Two Rivers-Roncalli co-op

Coach: Karnie Goessl, 17th year

Last year: fourth, Eastern Wisconsin Conference

Returning letter-winners: Sydney Schubring, sr.; Mariah Broehm, jr.; Grace Crabb, so.; Theresa Manna, so.

Outlook: Goessl is pleased to have her four returners and was concerned about fielding a team this season. Because of this, the co-op is inexperienced outside of Schubring who is a three-year letter winner. Newcomers Christine Lohr and Erin Slattery have experience at the YMCA and LB Clark swimming.

Coach: Michelle Blaha, first year

Last year: second, EWC

Returning letter-winners: Adrian Blaha, jr.; Lauren Casper, sr.; Leigha Casper, sr.; Ashley DeBlaey, so.; Dana Fritsch, sr.; Emily Fritsch, so.; Lucy Grunwald, jr.; Jessica Holzmann, jr.; Brooke Iserloth, sr.; Amber Kreis, sr.; Cheyenne Krueger, so.; Nicole Matthies, jr.; Charlotte Meyer, so.; Rachel Meyer, jr.; Carly Ritger, jr.; Madison Bushke, so.; Jasmine Schmahl, sr.

Outlook: The Raiders return 17 letter winners, the most in the area. New coach Blaha is optimistic of her teams chances and hopes Iserloth can return to State in diving.
