The Roncalli girls tennis team defeated Kewaskum 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at Lincoln Park to cap a perfect 9-0 run through the Eastern Wisconsin Conference.

Tallie Piaskowski (No.1 singles) and Chloe Kitzerow (No.2 singles) each won their matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Hannah Kubsh and Maddie Salutz picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No.1 doubles.

Though the Jets went undefeated in conference play, they finish the regular in second place in the EWC after Kohler won more individual matches during the season.

Roncalli returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Kohler for sub-sectionals.

Bailey Budnik is still alive for a championship at No.1 singles as Manitowoc Lincoln completed Day 1 of the Fox River Classic Conference tournament Wednesday at Green Bay East High School.

After receiving a bye in the opening round, Budnik defeated Angela Sun of Bay Port 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals before beating Green Bay Southwest’s Anneliese Zak by the same score in the semis.

Budnik will square off with top-seeded Valentina Gisbert of Green Bay East in the finals today.

When play resumes today, the Ships will have a pair of doubles teams competing for third place.

The tandem of Michaela Jagemann and Sydney Verbauwhede won their quarterfinal match at No.1 doubles over Maggie Krummel and Cristina Villalovas (De Pere) 6-4, 6-2, before falling in the semis to top-seeded Justine Daane and Samm Pedersen (Green Bay Southwest) 6-0, 6-0.

Jen Belisle and Dayna Decker pulled out a 6-2, 2-6, 10-3 win over Ashwaubenon’s Morgan Wills andBailey Morrow in their first match of the day, but dropped their second match 7-6 (5), 4-6, 10-7 to Katherine Fischer-Danielle Paulsen of De Pere.

Late Tuesday Kewaunee 4, TR 3

The Raiders came up short against the visiting Storm.

Gabby Weier downed Kewaunee’s Sam Ferron 6-3, 6-1 to account for TR’s lone win in singles.

Ashley Kakuk and Gabby Yokiel gave the Raiders a 6-1, 6-1 win at No.1 doubles, while the duo of Rachel Sosnosky and Crystal Dax pulled out a three-set (6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-5) win for Two Rivers at No.2 doubles.
