Bailey Budnik and partners Michaela Jagemann and Sydney Verbauwhede each took second at No. 1 singles and doubles, respectively, at Saturday’s Sheboygan North Invite.
Budnik beat Annie Zlevor of Racine Prairie 6-2, 6-0 and Eau Claire Regis’ Maria Neff 6-1, 6-4 before falling in the final to Emily Luetschwager of Stevens Point 6-0, 6-1.
Verbauwhede and Jagemann also won their first two matches, defeating Sheboygan South 6-0, 6-2 and Regis 6-3, 6-3. They lost in the championship to Sheboygan North’s No. 1 duo 6-3, 6-3.
As a team, the Ships finished seventh with 11 points.
