Alex Gray fired a 6-over-par 42 and finished just a few spots behind the field leader Monday at Highland Ridge Golf Course to help lead Sheboygan North’s golf team to a fourth-place finish in a Fox River Classic Conference match.
The Golden Raiders senior finished in a three-way tie for eighth place with golfers from Green Bay Southwest and Notre Dame. North shot 179 as a team, falling behind match champion Notre Dame (which shot 163), Bay Port (170) and De Pere (175).
T.J. Pitsch led Sheboygan South with a 46, putting the Redwings’ sophomore in a four-way tie for 23rd place. South finished tied for eighth place with Manitowoc in the 12-team event.
Notre Dame’s Ben Wagner carded a par on eight holes and bogeyed just once to claim a 37-stroke finish and a first-place prize in the meet.

Sheboygan Falls easily outpaced the rest of its league Monday in the first of several Eastern Wisconsin Conference mini-meets this season.
The Falcons’ Matt Andrews carded a 2-over-par 38 and teammate Matt Bachmann shot a 40 to pace the rest of the field at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms. Sheboygan Falls shot 166 as a team, 11 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Plymouth.
Tyler Siech and Tony Arnold were big parts in the Panthers’ runner-up finish. Siech finished in third place with 42 strokes, while Arnold tied with Campbellsport’s Logan Eisch for fourth place at 43 shots.
New Holstein carded a 207 for fifth place, and Kiel took seventh with a 223.

Logan Willis and Derek Egbert carded meet-best 38s to push defending Division 3 state runner-up Kohler to a season-opening win over Central Lakeshore Conference opponent Oostburg at Blackwolf Run.
Raymond Kolocek paced Oostburg, holing a birdie on the par-5 Hole 4 to finish with a team-best 41.
Willis carded birdies on Holes 3 and 9, and Egberg birdied Hole 4; both finished 2 over par.
