Merritt Island resident and former Tiger outside hitter Savannah Hicks signed with FAU and will compete for the Owls’ volleyball team.

Hicks was named “Rookie of the Year” and an all-star selection at the AAU National Tournament.

In the classroom, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Latin Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, a mathematics honor society.

Melbourne

The basketball team will host a camp July 8-11 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the school’s gymnasium.

The camp is intended for boys and girls in grades 2 through 9, and registration will cost $110.

Merritt Island

The Mustangs will host a basketball shooting camp today and tomorrow, and an individual camp July 15-17 from 9 a.m. until noon. The camps, which are intended for kindergarten through eighth grade, will be held at the school’s gymnasium. For more information or to register, visit islandsports.net.

Palm Bay

The Pirates are looking for a certified athletic trainer for the 2013-2014 school year. This is a paid supplemental position.

All-Cape Coast Conference basketball selectee Tymon Enwereama has signed to play basketball for LaGrange College. The former Raider will play in LaGrange, Ga.
