Wapahani beat Monroe Central 11-1 in five innings to complete an undefeated Mid-Eastern Conference season. Hayden Woodard led the Raiders with three hits (two were home runs) and five RBIs. Luke Snider had three hits for Wapahani, and Casey Jones had a homer and drove in three runs. Conner Delk had one of Monroe Central’s four hits.

Cowan topped Wes-Del 10-2 to wrap up MEC play. The Blackhawks’ Luke Miller had three hits, including a double, and threw five innings, allowing no earned runs. Trevor Spencer had two hits and a run for the Warriors.

Bellmont defeated Jay County 4-1. Jason Houston had two hits for the Patriots.

Southside topped Burris 16-2 on the road. Braiden Reynolds hit for the cycle for the Rebels. Jonny Norris had a hit, a run and a steal for the Owls.

Southside lost 13-3 to Centerville on Wednesday, and Dequan Blackmon hit a home run.

New Castle used four runs in the bottom of the fifth Wednesday to edge Richmond 11-7. Tyler Smith had three hits, four RBIs and a steal for the Trojans.

Blue River pulled out an eight-eight inning 11-10 win Wednesday against Union after the Rockets rallied with five runs in the seventh to tie the game. Pete Wissel hit three doubles for the Vikings.


Yorktown won its first Hoosier Heritage Conference title with a 4-0 win against Pendleton Heights. Grace Lumpkin and Kendra Saunders provided all the offense the Tigers needed with a two-run home run apiece, and Lumpkin struck out five while throwing a complete game shutout.

Delta fell 7-2 to Elwood at home. Ericka Persley hit a two-run home run to account for Delta’s scoring.

Jay County fell late to Northeastern in a 7-6 game where the lead changed hands four times. Larissa Boles hit a home run for the Patriots but took the loss in the circle.

Wes-Del defeated Southern Wells 10-3. Maddie Richards had four hits for the Warriors, and Mariah Berry and Taylor Ward each had two.

Shenandoah beat Anderson 4-3. Taylor Goyette and Rachel Krathwohl each had four hits for the Raiders while Sydney Goyette had two hits.


Jay County won its own sectional, sweeping Randolph Southern in the Finals. Miranda Reinhart got a No. 1 singles win and Avery Loyd pitched up the Patriots’ win at No. 2 singles. Jay County edged Winchester 3-2 in the opening round, while Randolph Southern downed Union City 4-1.


Central finished third with 184 behind Tipton (160) and Anderson (171). Keegan Bronnenberg led Bearcats with 41.

Delta defeated Alexandria 176-183. The Eagles’ Chris Wymer was medalist with 36.
