Wapahani picked up its first win of the season with a 6-2 victory over Monroe Central. Amanda Parsons had two hits, including a double. Kaija Aikman also had a double. Hanna Rose picked up the win in the circle. Kalle Gaddis had two hits for Monroe Central, and Haley Fields pitched a complete game for the Golden Bears.
Yorktown beat Rushville 11-1 in five innings to win its season opener. Morgan Masters and Ashleigh Morrow each collected two hits and scored two runs for the Tigers. Grace Lumpkin surrendered two hits and struck out six in the complete-game victory.
Central lost its season opener to Alexandria 13-0.
Madison Richards hit a three-run homer in the first inning and pitched the final four innings of one-run ball to propel Wes-Del past Delta 9-6.
Monroe Central opened its season Monday by defeating Mississinawa Valley 5-3. Haley Fields struck out 11.
Blackford defeated Jay County 4-1. Rachael Baker won at first singles for the Bruins. Brooke Fraley picked up the Patriots’ one victory.
Monroe Central defeated Wes-Del 69-54 as Tanner Thompson won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. Zach Rooker won the long jump and was on two winning relays for the Warriors.
Jay County won a triangular with 75 points. Southside took second with 36 points and Blackford had 35 points. Zach Criswell won the 3,200 and was on the winning 3,200 relay team.
Daleville won a triangular with 75 points. Cowan followed with 50 points and Randolph Southern had 12. Cowan’s Kyler Burch won the 800 meters and was on two winning relays.
Mt. Vernon topped Yorktown 92-40. Yorktown’s Dan Smith was on the winning 3,200 relay and also won the individual 3,200. Chris Lowry was on the winning 3,200 relay team and took the individual 1,600.
Wes-Del defeated Monroe Central 661/2-561/2. Perrie Smalley won the 100, 200 and long jump for the Warriors, while Madison Prather won both hurdles races. Makenzie Norris (1,600) and Ashley Pierce (400) were among the winners for the Golden Bears.
Randolph Southern won a triangular with 84 points. Daleville had 37 points and Cowan had 25. The Blackhawks’ Josie Griffis, Brittany Lampke, Kayla Lampke and Kendal Wright combined to win the 3,200 relay.
Jay County won a triangular with 100 points, topping Southside (23) and Blackford (24).
Mt. Vernon topped Yorktown 78-50. Yorktown’s A’Dreana
Howard-Anderson won the 400 and was on the winning 3,200 relay.
Wes-Del opened its season with a 7-5 win at Madison-Grant. Devin Gill scored three runs and had a pair of steals, while Palmer Smalley struck out six in four innings.
Delta picked up its first win of the season, knocking off Burris 13-1 in five innings. Cade Jones slapped a pair of triples and scored twice, while Alex Maloney had two steals and 3 runs.
Jay County lost to Fort Wayne Wayne 5-1. Kyle Selvey scored the lone run for the Patriots.
Randolph Southern defeated Mississinawa Valley (Ohio) 20-4 on Monday. Jake Wissel had four hits and five RBIs for the Rebels.
