Monroe Central scored two runs in the fifth to pull out a 4-3 Mid-Eastern Conference win against Blue River. Devin Nott struck out five and allowed one earned run in the complete-game win, and Jake Combs scored twice and had a steal for the Golden Bears. D.J. Acton had two hits and a run for Blue River.
Adams Central blanked Winchester in an 11-0 win. Austin Myers, Jalen Cox and Bradley Clark each had a hit for the Golden Falcons.
Monroe Central won a triangular meet, with Burris taking second and Blue River finishing third. The Golden Bears’ Josh Randall won both hurdle races. Burris’ Lucas Clay won both the 1,600 and 3,200.
Burris’s 64 points were enough to win a tri-meet against Monroe Central (47) and Blue River (46). Bryanna Graat won the 100, 200 and 400 for Blue River and Burris’ Jessica Bryzek won the 1,600 and 3,200.
Central fell to Pendleton Heights 109-23. Shelby Haggard won the 400 and Carrington Isom won the shot put.
Central picked up its first win of the season beating Monroe Central 178-181. Central’s Keegan Bronnenberg shot a 41 to take medalist honors.
Yorktown defeated Anderson 158-184. Caleb Morey was the medalist with a 37. Evan Packard shot a 38.
Winchester defeated Blackford 168-182 to start the season 2-0. The Falcons’ Chase Taylor was medalist with a 38, while Blake Thiery shot a 41 for the Bruins.

Cowan senior Madisen Mangus signed a National Letter of Intent to play at West Virginia State. Mangus set the Blackhawks to the Class A state championship in November.
