GIRLS BASKETBALL

Central defeated Delta 60-35 in its season opener. Jayla Scaife had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Bearcats. Teammate Jessica Rowe also had 14 points.

Monroe Central fell to Jay County 35-28. Mikaela McGrath had a double-double for the Golden Bears, scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Union City pulled away to a 45-27 win over Seton Catholic to open its season. Raelynn Mills had 22 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Indians.

Randolph Southern beat Wes-Del 79-11. The Rebels scored 30 points in the first quarter. Abbie Rooker scored five points for the Warriors (0-1).
