All-time team sports achievement

“Winning Vanderpan, conference and regionals in track my junior year.”

All-time individual achievement

“Maintaining class rank No. 1 and a 4.0 so far in high school.”

No. 1 athletic goal

“Going to State for 300-meter hurdles.”

Coach Christy Kohlhagen’s thoughts

“Maria is definitely our rock, our leader on the court and if we need a go-to person she is our go-to for passing, setting and hitting. This year I think she really has developed as a leader. Last year, her skills were definitely coming around, but this year she’s just turned into a complete all-around player and is a great person for the girls to go to and a great person to look up to. She has come into her own this year, is so much fun to watch and is such a great person to coach.”

Maria’s thoughts

“I am really happy with the progress our team has made so far this year, from when we first came together in the summer until now, I think it’s going pretty well. Individually, I fell like I continue to grow and develop as a player.”
