Alex’s thoughts

“Been really proud of the guys this season, it’s been a real pleasure to work with them. We’ve been together eight years, some of us. It’s really a great thing seeing our senior season come together like this, trying to maximize our potential and peaking at the right time in the playoffs. Individually, I get it all from my friends. They push me to be better and I push them to be better. Everyone tries to maximize each others potential, we get 11 guys playing their hearts out. One guy standing out just means the other 10 guys are working that much harder to make him better.”

Coach Ray Baranczyk’s thoughts

“Coming into this season, we had hopes Alex would develop into the type of running back he would become. There’s been times this season when defenses have shut down Joey (Macdonald) or our other flankers Nick (Stelzer) and JP (Ruether) and what’s that done is give Alex a chance to run off tackle. He’s had some really good games running our belly play off tackle, especially against Little Chute when he ended up with 97 yards. We’ve seen the last two season Alex has a real nose for the ball, he flies to the ball and we had the expectation he’d continue that this season at linebacker. He leads the team in solo tackles and you can see the rest of the (O-P Large) recognizes that. Alex has become a very vocal leader and he gives such inspiring speeches before the games nobody else wants to say anything. The coaches and the kids just want to go out and get the game started.”
