Rachel’s thoughts:

“I think the season is going pretty well for me. I have had some struggles but overall I am happy on how it has been. The team has also been doing well. We have had some rough patches as well. It’s nice when someone has a rough game, there is someone else that will step in and have a great game. Moving forward I want to help my team in any way I can to accomplish our goals. For the team we are looking to make it as far in playoffs as we can.”

Coach Ned Jacquart’s thoughts:

“Rachel has had a tremendous senior season because of the hard work and dedication she has put it over the past four years. She has grown from a freshman with potential to one of the best basketball players in the conference and area as a senior. It has been fun to watch her development over the years. Rachel is the most versatile player I’ve ever coached as she can play and guard any position on the court. During a game she can go from playing the backup point guard position on offense to guarding the other team’s 6-foot-tall center on defense because of her length and athleticism. Although she is one of the top scorers in the conference, probably her greatest value to our team is her tremendous defensive skills and rebounding ability. She currently is at or near the top of the Olympian Conference in almost every statistical category both offensively and defensively. However, what I am most proud of is how Rachel — along with Catherine and Sophie — have taken our program from a seven-win team two years ago to one of the top teams in the Olympian Conference now. It took a lot of hard work by a lot of other players and coaches but those three especially lead the way.”
