Lauren’s thoughts

“Aside from the weather at the beginning of the season canceling games and forcing us to practice indoors, this season has been awesome. Everyone has impressed me so much and we’ve really stepped it up this year. This team has so many talented athletes that have helped us to do better than ever before. Individually, I’ve been looking forward to soccer all year, and I’ve been working hard and I think this has been my best season yet.”

Coach Brian Brandl’s thoughts

“Lauren lives for soccer. She not only is a great player but is a wonderful ambassador for our team and is the one encouraging other kids to come out for the team. Lauren is the one organizing teams to play indoor soccer in the off season. She makes her teammates better. As a player she has been our leading scorer for the past two years and is leading the team again this year. Despite this, in the last four games I needed to move Lauren from striker, main scoring position, to outside midfielder, position with many more defensive responsibilities, and without hesitation she did it because it was best for the team. It may cost her the scoring title but she never questioned the change. Lauren does this all while maintaining a 3.9 GPA, going to State for band and giving freely of her time to service organizations. Naturally many people think she is my daughter. She is not, but I could not be more proud of her if she was.”
