The Chiefs rallied to tie the game in the third quarter but couldn’t carry the momentum the rest of the way. Jasmine Miro scored 16 points in the loss for Buena while Alaina Seyler and Caroline Santiago also finished in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Crusaders took a five-point lead in the first quarter and never gave it back en route to their second straight win.
Five players scored in double figures for Delsea, which rallied to hand Pitman just its second loss of the season.
Ronnie Russell led Delsea with 17 points, Kwame Morton had 15 and 11 rebounds and Keith Braxton had 12 points and 10 boards in the win.
Cumberland 138, Millville 32
The Colts got two first-place finishes each from Justin Seay, Noah Athey and Nick Roberts as they improved to 6-3 on the season.
Cumberland 102, Millville 71
Kristina Taguwa won the 200- and 400-meter freestyles and Delwyn Davis won the 50 and 100 frees as Cumberland kept the Thunderbolts winless on the season.
Millville got wins from Nikki DiMapilis, Caitlin Potter and Jamie Parent.
Vineland’s Leaquan James Jr. won the 400-meter run in 50.54 seconds at an event in Toms River on Thursday. Bridgeton’s Braheme Days Jr. also earned a gold medal, placing first in the shot put with a throw of 69 feet.
On the girls’ side, Buena’s Andrea Olsen won the 400 in 1:0064 while Delsea’s Celine Mazzi was victorious in the 1,600 in 5:06.25.
