GLENWOOD – Matt Bowe defeated Jake Pederson 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 in the No. 1 singles match to help St. Cloud Cathedral (10-2) beat Minnewaska 6-1 in a nonconference boys tennis match Thursday afternoon.

Bowe was down 3-0 in the second set before he rallied to win. Josh Robak and Phil Ruegemer won the first doubles match or the Crusaders 6-0, 6-1.

ST. CLOUD APOLLO 0

Carl Minnerath competed in his first singles match of the season and won 6-1, 6-0 for the Sabres at No. 3 in their lopsided victory at Apollo High School. In addition, Brandon Schuchard won in three sets at No. 1 singles for Sartell (6-8).

LP-GE 5, BENSON 2

LONG PRAIRIE – The Thunder improved to 6-3 on the season with the nonconference win.

Laine Larson, Ryan Welters and Trevor Bergmann all won in singles for the Thunder.

ORONO 14, ST. CLOUD TECH 8

The Tigers fell to Orono despite four goals from Jill Kedrowski. Erin Witte had 15 saves for the Tigers.

WEST CENTRAL MEETS

SAUK CENTRE – The West Central Conference held two meets Thursday.

Minnewaska won the meet in Sauk Centre with a team score of 166.

Melrose won on its home course with a team score of 164.

Melrose’s Wesley Dickhaus was the medalist on both courses. He had a 36 in Sauk Centre and a 34 in Melrose.

HOWARD LAKE – Rockford won the meet with a team score of 166.

The Jaguars have a combined total of 1,000 for the season to lead the conference.

Rockford’s Brady Horstad was the medalist with a round of 38.
