BECKER – The Little Falls boys and the Zimmerman girls took home first place at a Granite Ridge Conference meet Thursday afternoon at the Becker Fieldhouse.

The Little Falls boys had 131 points and the Zimmerman girls had 101.5 points.

On the boys side, Foley’s Charlie Lawrence won the 1,600-meter run (4:30.25) and the 800 (1:57.89).

Little Falls’ Travis Spillum won the long jump (19-6), the high jump (6-0) and was second in the triple jump (37-6.25).

The Little Falls girls won the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 10:44.95.

The relay was made up of Laura Moe, Heidi Moe, Amelia Kresha and Mattia Hendrickson. Hendrickson was second in the 1,600 run (5:40.23).

Men’s team scores: 1. Little Falls 131; 2. Foley 104; 3. Mora 83; 4. Princeton 66; 5. Zimmerman 48; 6. Albany 46; 7. St. Cloud Cathedral 42, 8. Becker 33; 9. Milaca 27.

Women’s team scores: 1. Zimmerman 101.5; 2. Milaca 76; 3. Foley 73; 4. Becker 71; 5. Princeton 68; 6. Little Falls 64; 7. Mora 56.5; 8. St. Cloud Cathedral 49; 9. Albany 25.


MINNEAPOLIS – The Eagles earned the nonconference win at the Metrodome late Wednesday night.

T.J. Frericks threw five innings to get the win. He gave up two earned runs on six hits and struck out four.

D.J. Smith threw two innings to get the save. He gave up a hit and struck out two.

Jordan Keller tripled and had two RBI for the Eagles (1-0), who had five singles.
