The Thunderbolts took four shots on goal but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Buena 4, Pleasantville 2
The Greyhounds tied the game with about 28 minutes to play, but junior midfielder Max Shevchenko broke the deadlock midway through the second half, cleaning up a loose ball inside the box with a left-footed shot from 15 yards out. Elisio Pamales added an insurance tally with just under eight minutes to play.
Cumberland 4, Salem 0
Senior midfielder Freddie Beck scored twice as the Colts improved to 4-3.
Schalick 6, Wildwood 0
Avery Fralick had a hat trick and also dished out an assist as the Cougars rolled to victory. Nick Rodriguez scored a pair of goals and Dustin Sheff also found the back of the net.
Girls’ soccer Vineland 5, Bridgeton 0
Senior defender Amanda Smaniotto and sophomore forward Madison Craig each scored their first career goals in the victory for Vineland.
Millville 3, Oakcrest 2
Emily Daigle scored twice in the final 10 minutes to lift the Thunderbolts to their fourth win of the year. Mallory Chamberlain had tied the game at 1-1 in the first half, but the Falcons took the lead back in the 53rd minute. Daigle’s goals were assisted by Brooke Muhlbaier and Nicki Read.
Buena 2, OLMA 2 (2OT)
Gabby Balnis and Jesse Nichols gave Buena a 2-0 lead at halftime, but the Villagers tied it up with goals from Sarah Buchanan and Tia Dupont in the second half and they couldn’t decide it in the final 20 minutes of regulation or two overtime periods.
Field hockey Millville 3, Absegami 1
The Thunderbolts came back from an early deficit to score three unanswered goals. Gabby Banks had two before halftime and Megan Hoffman finished the game with a pair of assists.
Buena 1, Cedar Creek 0
Kaitlyn Wilson put the Chiefs on the board 20 seconds into the second half and Buena held on for the victory.
Delsea 2, Triton 0
Junior Lexi Brown scored first for the Crusaders with 14 minutes left in the first half, then sophomore Destini Parker made it a 2-0 game with just over four minutes to play before halftime. Parker and her sister Devyn Parker each had an assist.
Girls’ tennis Schalick 3, Glassboro 2
Gina Irizarry rallied from a set down to beat Lauren Yan 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 to help the Cougars improve to 4-3 on the year. Schalick also swept both doubles points.
