Boys’ basketball
Cumberland 62,

Dwayne Parker and Milton Morris each scored season-highs, tallying 14 and 13 points respectively, as four Colts hit double-figures en route to the team’s first win of the season. Wesley Savage recorded a game-high 16 points while Joseph Ordille chipped in 11.

Cumberland connected on 12 3-pointers in the contest with Savage nailing four and Morris and Ordille each dropping three.

St. Augustine 77,
L. Cape May 23

David Sullivan led a dozen Hermits with a game-high 14 points as St. Augustine rolled past the winless Caper Tigers. Mike Greenman and Blake Rossell chipped in 11 apiece.

Absegami 72,
Millville 61

Khaliq Ford tallied 18 points and Rashon Sorrell added 17, but it wasn’t enough for the Thunderbolts to topple Absegami. Terron Mitchell added 10 for Millville.

Girls’ basketball
Bridgeton 40,
Hammonton 18

Destiny Thompson had 10 points and eight rebounds and Jovan Childers finished with 10 points and seven boards as the Bulldogs rolled past Hammonton. Shainazia Peterson had eight points and eight rebounds.

Bridgeton held the Blue Devils to three points in each of the first two quarters, racing to a 15-6 lead at the intermission. The Bulldogs never looked back.

G. Catholic 53,
Delsea 43

The Crusaders led 11-7 over the unbeaten Rams (10-0) through one quarter, but Gloucester Catholic turned it around in the second and held a 25-20 lead at the intermission.

Sarah Stuart connected on four 3-pointers to lead the Crusaders with 15 points while Amanda Schmidt also made four treys en route to 12 points.

Sacred Heart 95,
L. Cape May 73

The Lions scored their first victory since a beating Pleasantville on Dec. 12.

Ernie Scoma and Rocco Lupi each won two individual events while Nate Jones (200-yard freestyle) and Jana Martini (backstroke) also won events.

Schalick 103,
Glassboro 77

Freshman Kelsey DeMatte won both the 200-yard individual medley and 100 butterfly as the Cougars improved to 6-1 on the season.

Delsea 101,
Williamstown 81

The Crusaders (4-3) climbed above .500 for the first time since winning their opening meet of the season. Freshman Nick Lyons had two individual victories while senior Brad Hill (500 freestyle, 6:36.41) and sophomore Alex Titus (100 backstroke, 1:00.26) earned first-place finishes with personal-best times.
