Central Magnet junior Claudia Smith scored 23 points to join the Lady Tigers’ 1,000-point club in the team’s 54-24 win against Dekalb County Tuesday night.

Forward Ola Obi also recorded a double-double in the victory, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Smith County 52, Cannon County 49: Abby Sissom scored 16 points, including two threes, and Erin McReynolds added 10 points for the Lionettes (9-1, 2-1 District 8-AA) in defeat. Smith County improved to 7-0 (2-0 8-AA).

Oakland 65, Stewarts Creek 26: Shelby Gibson scored 18, Kiara House added 11 and Emily Eubank finished with 10 for the Lady Patriots (8-1, 1-0 District 7-AAA). Brianah Ferby scored a team-high eight points for Creek (1-8, 0-1 7-AAA).

Boyd Christian 50, Providence Christian 33: Liza Jane Jones scored 14 points in defeat for PCA (2-4).

Boys

Cannon County 72, Smith County 39: Cory Henley scored 20 points, Tanner Larson added 15 and Garrett McReynolds finished with 10 for the Lions (9-1, 3-0 District 8-AA).

Oakland 69, Stewarts Creek 42: Ricky Dunnaway and Devin Epps scored 14 points each and Kyle Oliver finished with 11 for the Patriots (5-4, 1-0 District 7-AAA). Jalen Fearn scored 11 points and Jy’Lan Washington added 10 for the Red Hawks (6-4, 0-1 7-AAA).

Boyd Christian 70, Providence Christian 47: Jake Johnson scored 18 points and Ethan Hennis added 11 for PCA (5-2).

Junior Varsity

MTCS 32, Eagleville 29: Barr Ellenburg and Nathan Smith scored 10 points each in the win for the Cougars. Eagleville’s leading scorers were Garrett Parker (11) and Austin Strickland (10).
