Fort Collins guard Chase Thurgood hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it was all for naught as the Lambkins left Boulder with a 54-52 loss to Fairview Friday night in a Front Range League battle.

Fairview point guard Brent Wrapp recorded a steal and fastbreak layup with about 14 seconds remaining to give the Knights (14-3, 9-1 FRL) a 54-49 lead and essentially pad the win.

Ryan French led Fort Collins (9-8, 6-4 FRL) with 24 points

Fairview kept pace with Monarch, which beat Rocky Mountain Friday night, for the league lead.

43 — Up only two points after three quarters, the SaberCats used strong fourth quarter defense to outscore Mountain Range 15-5 in the final eight minutes to seal the Front Range League win.

Seniors Cody McCoy and Alec Quaid scored 17 and 12 points, respectively to lead the SaberCats (13-4, 8-2 FRL) who are at Boulder on Tuesday.

52 — The Impalas squandered an eight-point lead late and their season-leader in scoring, Lake Reed, was held to just 10 points in the road loss Friday night.

Lukas Lindquist scored 18 points for Poudre (7-10, 3-7 FRL) which led 43-36 through three quarters, but was outscored 19-9 in the final quarter. Tucker Clay scored 10 points.

MONARCH 50, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 43 — Michael Dermody scored 14 points and Rocky Mountain (3-14, 1-9 FRL) hung tough with first-place Monarch (14-3, 9-1) but couldn’t quite catch the Coyotes.

Will Beauchamp hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points for Monarch, which led 28-20 at halftime but couldn’t pull away. Rocky Mountain, which snapped a 10-game losing streak Tuesday night with a win at Legacy, pulled within five in the final minute and had a chance to close the gap even further. But Aaron Hines, who finished with eight points, was whistled for a charging foul while driving for a basket with 46 seconds remaining.

Neal added 10 points for Rocky Mountain, which also got eight from Daniel Hunter.

36 — Joel Barreras sank four 3-pointers to score 18 points as Heritage Christian rolled Friday night.

Matthew McGinley added 13 and Garrett Niichel added 12 for the Eagles (13-1, 5-1 Mile High).

LIBERTY COMMON 48, ALEXANDER DAWSON 32 — Philip Allmendiger scored 17 points and Arjun Gill added 16 as Liberty Common (8-5, 4-2 Mile High) cruised Friday night.

Rob Knab added 13 points for the Eagles.


FORT COLLINS 43, FAIRVIEW 39 — The Lambkins jumped out to a 22-11 halftime lead and cruised from there, moving to 10-7 overall and 6-4 in Front Range League play.

Ashley Evans led Fort Collins with 13 points and Nicole Lange added 12. Fort Collins is at Mountain Range on Tuesday.

FOSSIL RIDGE 70, MOUNTAIN RANGE 41 — SaberCats sophomore Savannah Smith had 21 points in her first game back from a concussion and teammate Kellee Willer added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Fossil Ridge put things out of reach with a big third quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 25-9 to open the second half.

65, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 45 — Anna Ernst and Wesley Bannister each scored 11, and Kelcey Bedard added 10, but it wasn’t enough to lift Rocky Mountain (6-11, 2-8 FRL), which fell behind 21-8 in the first quarter.

Ellie Dietz scored 16 and Regan Rhon had 15 for Monarch (10-7, 6-4 FRL).

46 — Brooke Pemberton scored 20 points and Alyssa Manicone added 12 as the first place Wizards rolled the second place team in the Tri-Valley League.

Korbyn Ukasick added 10 points for the Wizards (15-3, 9-0 Tri Valley) who are at Skyline on Tuesday.

HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 46, LONGMONT CHRISTIAN 19 — Mariah Green scored 16 points and Lexi Fisher added eight and 11 rebounds in the Mile High League win.

Micaela Bush added 10 points for the Eagles (10-4, 6-0 Mile High).

48, ALEXANDER DAWSON 27 — The Eagles jumped out to an 18-5 first quarter lead and never looked back from there as Molly Gillis led Liberty Common (6-7, 2-2 Mile High) with 12 points.
