The Cannon County girls basketball team blew out York Institute 80-15 Thursday night to improve to 9-0 on the season and stay perfect in District 8-AA (2-0).

MTSU signee Abby Sissom scored a game-high 14 points, including three 3-pointers for the Lionettes, who finished with four players in double figures.

The three others in double figures were Rebekah Faulkner (11 points), Madison Walkup (10) and Kendra Maynard (11). Faulkner also grabbed 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Smyrna 65, Summitt 43: Brianne Alexander scored a team-high 19 points and Kesha Brady added 12 for the Lady Bulldogs (6-2).

Boys

Cannon County 60, York Institute 47: Cory Henley scored 16 points, Josh Ruehlen added 15 points, Jacob Nave finished with 13 and Tanner Larson scored 10 for the Lions (8-1, 2-0 District 8-AA).

Freshman

Smyrna 48, Summitt 22: Cason Thompson scored nine points and Deven Simms added seven for the Bulldogs (4-1).

Blackman (2-0) 60, La Vergne 43: Anthony Ochoa scored 12 points, Jaellen White added 10 and David Ivy finished with 10 to lead the Blaze (2-0). Princeton Fant scored a game-high 21 points in defeat for La Vergne.

Providence Christian 64, Currey Ingram 25: Jake Johnson scored 22 points, Ethan Hennis added 13 points and Payton Thomas finished with 10 points for PCA (5-1).

Middle School

Girls

Stewarts Creek 34, Oakland 20: Brinae Alexander scored a game-high 14 points for SCMS (5-2). Oakland’s leading scorer was Faith Adams (five points).

Christiana 42, Blackman 35: Alexis Whittington scored a game-high 22 points and Correna Ellis added 14 points for CMS (7-0). Jaida Barns scored 18 points in defeat for BMS.

Rockvale 49, Smyrna 8: Aniyah Martin scored eight points and Mia Metcalf, Elaina McGill, Nya Caruthers each scored six points for RMS (1-3).

Rock Springs 45, Siegel 26: Kyra Wilder scored 18 points for RSMS. Destiny Davis scored nine points for SMS.

Thurman Francis 32, Central Magnet 27: Camryn Broussard scored a game-high 14 points for TFMS. Central was led by Mackenzie Cummins and Devyn Locum. Both scored seven points.

Boys

Christiana 48, Blackman 38: Timmy Goodrich scored 16 points and Jarek Campbell added 10 points for CMS (5-2). BMS was led by Trent Gibson, who scored a game-high 18 points.

Rockvale 44, Smyrna 19: Gabriel Martin scored 11 points and Mari Stoudemire added 10 points for RMS (2-2). Smyrna was led by Luke Nikazy. He finished with five points.

Siegel 48, Rock Springs 40: Ryan Hill scored a game-high 22 points and Marcellis Martin added 18 points for SMS. Rock Springs was led by Tanner Antonutti, who scored 15 points.

Oakland 52, S
tewarts Creek 18: Marcus Hardy scored 14, Dre Litaker added 13 and Brandon Thomas finished with 11 for OMS (5-0). SCMS was led by Vince Floyd (14).
