The Bronson High volleyball team, ranked No. 6 in Class C, went 2-1-3 Saturday at the Thornapple-Kellogg Invitational.

The Vikings (35-13-6) beat Hopkins 25-14, 25-21; lost to Thornapple-Kellogg 17-25, 13-25; split with Holland 21-25, 25-13; split with Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills 25-21, 18-25; beat Class D No. 3-ranked Wyoming Tri-unity Christian 25-14, 25-8; and split with GR Northview 21-25, 25-18.

On the day, Skyler Sobeski had 41 kills, seven aces, 58 digs and three blocks; Jill Pyles had 20 kills, six aces and 13 digs; Mallorie Bassage had 18 kills, three aces and 13 digs; Alexa Ratkowski had 17 kills, 93 assists, nine aces, 22 digs and three blocks; Haley Russell had 13 kills and six blocks; Kirin Cekander had four kills and eight digs; Kassidy Bystry had four assists, five aces and 68 digs; Grace Pyles had five aces and 49 digs; and Allie Smith had 26 digs.

Gobles Class D Invite (Sat.): In the 16-team girls’ race, Quincy finished first with 61 points. Athens was 11th with 292 and Colon was 12th with 346.

Quincy’s top runners were Haley Bean (3rd, 20:15.74), Katie Spalding (7th, 20:35.06), Kelsey Bean (14th, 21:11.73), Alyssa Bracy (18th, 21:27.78) and Nickole Loomis (19th, 21:32.15). Scoring for Athens were Audrey Oswalt (21st, 21:36), Sara Parks (64th, 26:05), Alicia Holm (65th, 26:19), Allysha Beal (69th, 26:52) and Shaylynn Tebo (73rd, 27:26). Colon was led by Skyler Harvey (23rd, 21:37.51) and Sydnee Wiard (77th, 28:35).

In the 16-team boys’ race, Quincy was second with 88 points, Athens was 10th with 288 and Colon was 14th with 343. Quincy was paced by Zach Slack (2nd, 16:59.63), Riley Horn (17:05.62), Logan Kostner (7th, 17:34.27), Hunter Winger (26th, 18:05.35) and Tyler Powell (50th, 19:19.72). Athens was led by Mason Mears (43rd, 19:04), Casey Hardin (19:16), Jake Iles (52nd, 19:37), Steven Waring (67th, 20:33) and Kevin Schuetz (78th, 23:00). Colon’s top runners were Kyle Poortenga (47th, 19:10.48), Larry Peppers (69th, 20:52.51), Ben Weaver (72nd, 21:26.26), Andrew Lash (73rd, 21:26.26) and Mike Weaver (82nd, 25:13.61).
