NEKOOSA – Brie Meddaugh led an offensive charge that would make any coach proud.
With a whopping 15 hits, including four for extra bases, Nekoosa throttled Mauston 23-0 in a South Central Conference game Tuesday night.
“The girls finally put together a complete game,” Nekoosa coach Nate Strehlau said. “We didn’t have any errors and I think the girls took out some aggression at the plate for some of the game they felt they should have won this season.
Meddaugh went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles, while Shannon Books had three hits including a triple and Kendra Marcouex went 4 for 5 with a double.
Nekoosa had six hits and capitalized on three Mauston errors in the Papermakers’ big 12-run second inning.
“We looked really good today and hit the ball hard when we had the opportunity,” said Strehlau, whose team improved to 3-4 overall 3-3 in the SCC.

Lindsay Krueger hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to lead the Bluejays to a Wisconsin Valley Conference win over the Raiders.
Merrill had 12 hits, With Brianna LaMonica, Katie Travis and Leesha Kleinschmidt having two hits each.
The Raiders were held to four hits and struggled when they had runners in scoring position.

MERRILL – Wisconsin Rapids won with four runs in the top of the seventh. Brennen Bauer sent home the tying run with a single. He also pitched the entire game.

MARSHFIELD – The Tigers swept the three doubles matchups as the No. 1 team of Kohl and Quinn VanOudenhoven didn’t drop a game to lead Marshfield to a win in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual.
Rapids’ Jason Stone and Jacob Limmex won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.

WAUSAU – Matt Sandquist fired a round of 71 and edged SPASH’s Trevor Thomas by a stroke in the third leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference meet at the Wausau Country Club.
John Benbow and Tyler Arneson both shot an 86 to lead Rapids.
SPASH was the top team with a round of 303, with Merrill second with 336. Rapids was fourth with a 346.
Thomas remains the top individual in the conference with 43 points, and Sandquist is second with 38.5.
SPASH has won all three meets, and has a four-point lead over Merrill. Rapids sits in fourth place.
