MELROSE – Freshman Madison Libbesmeier struck out seven and tallied two RBI as Kimball muscled past nonconference opponent Melrose 10-5 Friday.

Libbesmeier pitched seven innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks.

She went went 2-for-3 and had three stolen bases for the Cubs (5-11).

Junior Stacy Hurrle went 2-for-4 for Kimball with an RBI.

Melrose was led by junior Nikki Zierden, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two RBI.

Monticello 11, Rocori 3

MONTICELLO – The Magic scored four runs on three Rocori errors and the Spartans were never able to recover.

Abby Templin led Rocori with a two-run triple and Katie Heinen added an RBI single for Rocori (11-4).

Alissa VonderHaar hit a three-run blast for Monticello.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 1

SAUK CENTRE – All nine batters in Sauk Centre’s order had at least two hits each as Sauk Centre clobbered Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.

Madison Moritz went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI and Liz Ellens went 3-for-4 for the Mainstreeters. Becca Moe and Jordan Gamradt each had two hits, a double and an RBI.

Colleen LuGrain allowed six hits and struck out five in seven innings for Sauk Centre.

Buffalo 5, Becker 4

BUFFALO – Senior Emily Varner hit a three-run home run in the third inning to put Buffalo up 5-2 and the Bison held off Becker despite a late rally to earn a win on their home field.

Barner finished 1-for-3 with three RBI for Buffalo.

Becker, which scored two runs at the top of the seventh inning, was led by seniors Sarah Money and Janae Myers. Money finished 2-for-4 with a double, home run and one RBI. Myers went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the Bulldogs.

Alexandria 11-7,
St. Cloud Tech 1-4

WAITE PARK – St. Cloud Tech was one out away from salvaging a split against Alexandria, but Taylor Ellingson hit a grand slam to get the Central Lakes Conference sweep at Discovery Elementary.

Danni Koshiol, Lindsay Laudenbach and Karissa Kiffmeyer all had three hits for the Tigers and Lauren Palmquist 2-for-3 with a double.

Tech drops to 6-8 in the Central Lakes and 6-10 overall.

Sauk Rapids 15,
St. Cloud Apollo 1

Sauk Rapids scored five runs in the first inning en route to a win against the Eagles in five innings at Apollo High School.

Jen Rasmussen picked up the win for Storm (7-7 Central Lakes, 9-8 overall).
