Sheboygan Falls’ softball team had a big day offensively, sweeping an Eastern Wisconsin Conference doubleheader at Two Rivers Tuesday.
The Falcons used a 10-run first inning in Game 1 to cruise to a 19-1 win.
Adina Kasimoff allowed just two hits and one run to earn the win pitching.
Offensively, Falls was led by Taylor Petrie and Abby Christiansen with three hits apiece and Megan Kapellen added two. Every starter scored for the Falcons in the game.
Game 2 was an 8-1 win for Falls (2-2, 2-1), as eight different players scored. Taylor Mehan had a hit and two stolen bases, and coach Brian Beeck also credited Mehan for her defense.
Ashley Drossel gave up three hits while picking up the win on the mound.
The Falcons travel to New Holstein on Thursday for a doubleheader and Waupun on Friday for another twinbill.
Elkhart Lake 13-14
The Resorters swept a doubleheader at Stockbridge Monday night.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah notched 17 hits in a 13-7 win in Game 1. Jordan Shaw led the team with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate; she scored three runs. Aryanna Klemme went the distance, giving up eight hits for the win.
In Game 2, Elkhart belted 17 hits, with Klemme, Rachael Flora and Charity Rodriguez hitting three apiece. Klemme took the win after closing the last two innings.
Elkhart travels to Cedar Grove-Belgium today for a doubleheader that was rescheduled due to the weather Tuesday.
