Reedsville’s Riley Grimm drove in three runs on 2-of-4 from the plate as the Panthers defeated host Mishicot on Tuesday 12-9.
After scoring three unearned runs in the first, Reedsville’s bats went silent for a long stretch before adding three runs in the top of the fifth and five in the seventh. The Indians rallied to score four in the bottom of the seventh but it wasn’t enough in the end.
Grimm was one of the players for Reedsville with at least two RBI, joined by teammates Kayla Sheahan (2-for-4, two RBI) and Karissa Frank (2-for-4, two RBI).
Mishicot, meanwhile, did the same as Amanda McArdle (1-for-3), Tayler Krause (2-for-3) and Amber Pantzlaff (2-for-4) all had two RBI each. Both of Krause’s hits were triples.
Katie Ziemer earned the win for the Panthers, going 31/3 allowing no earned runs on two hits while walking five and striking out one. Chloe Sebo finished the game for the save, pitching the final 32/3 allowing earned six runs on 11 hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
Lindsay Bries took the loss, allowing four earned runs over five innings with three strikeouts and no walks.
Roncalli 7, St. Mary’s Central 6
The Jets scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win in come-from-behind fashion over the visiting Zephyrs.
Tiffany Abts earned the complete game win for Roncalli, allowing six runs — two earned — on 11 hits with five strikeouts and two walks. At the plate, Abts went 3-for-4 including two runs scored. Teammate Katelin Dorow (2-for-3) drove in four runs while Hannah Severin (2-for-4, two 2B) added a pair to pace the Roncalli.
The deciding moment though came in the seventh when the Jets responded after St. Mary’s took the lead by scoring three runs in the top of the frame, as Abts and Severin hit back-to-back doubles to knot the game at 6-6 before Dorrow hit a walk-off RBI single to have Roncalli the game.
Waupun 6, Kiel 2
After allowing two runs in the bottom of the first inning, visiting Kiel tied the game at 2-2 in the third before giving up four unanswered runs the rest of the way.
Brooke Goehring was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI as she took the loss after pitching six innings and allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Steph Scholz also went 2-for-3 for Kiel.
Wrightstown 16, Manitowoc Lutheran 0 (five innings)
Visiting Lutheran allowed eight runs each in the second and third inning for the loss.
Kaitlin Radue went 2-for-3 with a stolen base for Lutheran while Anna Gries was 1-for-2.
MacKayla Menges took the loss, allowing eight runs — two earned — on two hits and nine walks with one strikeout in two innings. Arianna Neumeyer pitched two innings of relief, allowing eight earned runs on three hits and five walks with a strikeout.
LATE MONDAY Brillion 14, Manitowoc Lutheran 7
After scoring five runs in the top of the first, visiting Lutheran allowed 11 unanswered runs in the loss which was originally to be played in Manitowoc but moved to Brillion due to weather conditions.
Hannah Yagodinski went 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI while teammate Kaitlin Radue was 1-for 4 with two RBI and one run. Also for the Lancers, Anna Gries was 1-for-3 with two runs and Arianna Neumeyer was 2-for-3 with three runs.
MacKayla Menges started for Lutheran and went four innings in the loss. She allowed five earned runs on one hit and 11 walks with five strikeouts while at the plate she went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Neumeyer pitched two innings of relief and allowed nine earned runs on five hits and eight walks with two strikeouts.
