SARTELL – The Sabres blew open a one-goal halftime lead with three goals in the second half to beat Little Falls 7-2 Monday in a nonconference game.
Zach Jacobson scored Sartell’s three first-half goals but the Flyers were still within a goal after 40 minutes, thanks to Thomas Bell who scored Little Falls’ first goal.
Kempten Schneider netted three goals in the second half and Ben Beitch added another for the Sabres (4-1 overall).
Sartell goalkeeper Kellen Johnson finished the game with six saves.
St. John’s Prep 4, Sauk Rapids 1
COLLEGEVILLE – Andrew McGee and HP Park scored two goals each as St. John’s Prep rolled to its first win of the season with a nonconference victory over Sauk Rapids.
McGee and Park each assisted on one of the other’s goals and Andrew Bender came up with 12 saves for the Johnnies (1-4 overall).
St. Cloud Cathedral 3, Alexandria 0
ALEXANDRIA – Andreas Almarza, Will Hammer and Alex Peterson each had goals as Class A No. 5 St. Cloud Cathedral (5-0-1) defeated Alexandria in nonconference play. Peterson’s goal came on a penalty kick. Phil Ruegemer had five saves to pick up the win.
Sauk Rapids 6, St. John’s Prep 0
SAUK RAPIDS – Ahna Richardson and Emma Krueger scored two goals apiece in Sauk Rapids’ nonconference win.
Abby Schiller and Marianna Blair each scored a goal for Sauk Rapids and Blair assisted on one of Krueger’s goals.
Storm goalkeeper Ashley Benoit needed two saves to record the shutout. Sauk Rapids (1-4-1 overall) attempted 32 shots and 21 made it on goal. Anna Bender had 15 saves for SJP (1-3-1).
Becker 3, Mayer Lutheran 1
BECKER – Mikki Berscheit scored two goals as Becker topped Mayer Lutheran in nonconference play.
Rocori 4, St. Cloud Apollo 3
COLD SPRING – Melissa Nierenhausen picked up the win at No. 1 singles as Rocori topped St. Cloud Apollo in a Central Lakes Conference match.
The No. 1 doubles team of Monica Benda and Sam Fussy also won their match.
Rogers 6, Annandale 1
ANNANDALE – Anna Zahler and Casey Mikel got Annandale’s only win against Rogers in the third doubles match.
The scores at No. 3 doubles were 3-6, 6-1, 8-6 and the Cardinals fell to 2-8 overall.
BBE 4, LPGE/USA 3
BELDRADE – Cassandra Hoppe won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles as Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa slipped past Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala/Swanville in nonconference.
Big Lake 3, St. Cloud Tech 1
Kelsey Berg had nine kills and six ace serves, but St. Cloud Tech fell to Big Lake in nonconference play at Tech High School. Game scores were 25-23, 26-24, 17-25, 26-24.
Brooke Poepping had four ace serves and 11 set assists for the Tigers (1-3).
Foley 3, Milaca 2
FOLEY – Shelby Johnson finished with 12 kills, nine digs and 13 service points in a Granite Ridge Conference win against Milaca.
Game scores were 24-26, 11-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-4.
Cassie Larson had 26 digs for the Falcons (1-1, 1-3). Molly Banks had 14 kills and Kristina Loegering had 14 digs for the Wolves.
LONG PRAIRIE – Rachel Eickhoff and Paige Danielson finished finished Nos. 1 and 2 in the girls race to help St. Cloud Cathedral run away from the competition.
Eickhoff finished in 15:32.78 and Danielson was runner-up in 16:32.27. Morgan Durbin (16:55.15), Carmen Ebel (17:03.18) and Rachel Wintheiser (17:15.85) also finished in the top 10 for the Crusaders. Madison Greenwaldt led Sauk Centre in 16:56.79 and Promise Butler led Paynesville (ninth, 17:04.36). Andrew Zachman led Holdingford to the boys team title, winning the race with a 17:12.82. .
