You name it, he won it.

Sheboygan South’s McKena Ramos proved this winter that in the pool, he can beat you in just about every event.

Over the course of the season, the Redwings’ senior won the 100 freestyle, 200 free, 500 free, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 individual medley, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay at least once.

The Sheboygan Press Media All-Area Boys Swimmer of the Year won the Fox River Classic Conference title in the 100 fly (55.58) and was a member of the conference-champion 400 free relay (3:22.07). He earned honorable mention all-conference honors in the 200 free.

For the second year in a row, Ramos qualified for four events at State, competing in the 200 free, 100 fly, 200 free relay and 400 free relay.

Ramos took 13th in the 200 free (1:47.33) and 16th in the 100 fly (54.28) in Madison, and helped the 200 free relay (1:30.06) to a ninth-place finish. The 400 free relay (3:18.62) finished 16th at State.

Ramos is joined by six seniors, two juniors and a freshman on the All-Area team.
