St. James’ Frank Moody and Prattville’s Kamryn Pettway were honored as players of the week by the Montgomery Quarterback Club for games of Sept. 13.
The two will be honored at the Club’s next meeting Sept. 24, when former Arkansas and Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt will be the featured speaker.
Moody, a senior running back, earned private school honors after rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries in the Trojans’ 32-14 win over Headland. Saint James, coached by Jimmy Perry, is 1-2 on the season and plays at Bullock County on Friday.
Pettway, a senior running back, earned public school honors for 151 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries in Prattville’s 28-7 win over Wetumpka. Prattville, coached by Chad Anderson, is 1-2 on the season and plays at Thompson on Friday.
The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Montgomery Country Club on Narrow Lane Road. The social hour begins at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7:00. Guests are welcome at Quarterback Club meetings but guests must make an advance reservation and pay $30 at the door.
