Red Bank Catholic senior offensive tackle Quenton Nelson was named to the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Second Team, USA Today announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 301-pound Nelson, who has made a non-binding verbal commitment to Notre Dame, could be one of the most dominating offensive linemen to ever come out of the Shore Conference.

Nelson is a dominating physical blocker, who is equally outstanding on both run and pass blocking.

He led a line that enabled Red Bank Catholic to rush for 3,074 yards and average 8.9 yards a rush this past season. Caseys’ senior running back Larry Redaelli had 1,660 of those yards, a Shore Conference-leading 29 touchdowns and averaged 9.3 yards a carry.

Nelson was outstanding in the Caseys’ NJSIAA Non-Public Group III playoff games against Immaculata and eventual champion St. Joseph (Montvale).

He is a two-time Asbury Park Press All-Shore First-Team selection. The Caseys went 10-1 this past season and were named the No. 1 ranked team in the APP Top 10 for the third straight season.
