The Port Clinton girls’ swim team placed fifth at Friday’s NWOAC Relays, posting a final team score of 243. Fremont Ross won the swimming events with a final score of 303. Oak Harbor’s girls were seventh with 193 points.
The Redskins’ 300 butterfly team of Taylor Steyer, Allie Schroeder, Mckenzie Stine and Cheyenne Meek took first in 3:09.68. The Rockets’ Amber Lazenby placed seventh (6:10.85) in 500 freestyle, the evening’s lone individual event.
Host-team Napoleon won the boys events with a final team score of 316. Oak Harbor’s 234 points were good enough for fifth place, while Port Clinton was eighth with 136.
Oak Harbor’s Ben Dresser, Isaac Bodnar and Michael Lafountain took third (3:19.82) in the 300 medley relay.
Port Clinton’s Zach Barr, Nick Reineck, David Leone and Ty Gallogly swam the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.09, a second-place finish. The same group of Redskins finished the 400 medley relay in 4:14.85, good enough for fifth place..
Dresser earned Oak Harbor a fourth-place finish (5:29.74) in the 500 freestyle and Reineck took seventh for Port Clinton in 5:51.34.
