Maddy Reed scored 12 of her game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as Lourdes Academy erased a five point fourth quarter deficit to win 62-58 in overtime at the Christine Rathke Memorial Tournament in Franklin.
The Knights (6-1) took a four point lead after the first quarter, but were outscored 31-22 over the next 16 minutes. Lauren Fischer and Reed scored seven of the team’s eight points in the overtime period, and all eight points came from the free throw line. Lourdes Academy converted on eight of its 10 free throw attempts in overtime, and 19 of 25 for the game.
“It’s a big win for us, and I’m just proud of all my girls. All of them contributed in some fashion,” head coach Allison Fetts said. “A key block here or an extra pass on offense, it was a true team effort tonight.”
Fischer finished with 17 points and Katie Van Scyoc chipped in with nine for Lourdes Academy. The Knights will continue tournament play this afternoon with a game against De Pere at 3:30 p.m.
Middleton’s (6-2) Cole Jordee had a team-high 17 points, including the game-tying three-point play with 25 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Middleton’s Liz McMahon finished with 16 points, including 12 in the first half.
