Resurrection Christian got the first win it needed. But not the second.

The Cougars, the No. 6 seed in the Class 2A state baseball tournament, ended their season with a 4-3 loss to No. 3 Denver Christian on Saturday at Mountain View High School in Loveland in the second round of the tournament. The loss came after a 13-0 thumping of No. 11 Swink in the tournament’s opening game.

Denver Christian (16-7) advances to the semifinals where it will play No. 2 Las Animas (18-2) on Saturday at All-State Park in Lakewood. The winner advances to the 2A state championship game against the winner of the No. 1 Rye (20-1) and No. 4 Lutheran (16-7) matchup.

Resurrection Christian, meanwhile, finishes its season with a 15-8 record.
