BFA-St. Albans used a three-touchdown performance from Charlie Richardson to grab a 39-6 win over St. Johnsbury in high school football on Saturday afternoon.

Richardson ran for 152 yards on 19 carries and quarterback Robert Kelly threw for 54 yards, scored a rushing touchdown and kicked two field goals for the Bobwhites (2-0). Josh Menard wrapped up the scoring for BFA, punching the ball into the end zone on a 1-yard run.

St. Johnsbury (0-2) scored in the third quarter, with quarterback Colton Hudson finding Dylan Shattuck with a 33-yard touchdown pass. Hudson finished the day with 120 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception.

* Bellows Falls 24, Milton 6: Carson Fullam’s 90-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter helped Bellows Falls pull away from visiting Milton in a rematch of last year’s Division II semifinals.

Austin Stack gave Bellows Falls a 6-0 lead with a 2-yard run in the first quarter. Following Fullam’s TD return, Kendrick Mills caught a 20-yard TD pass from Ethan Illingworth and Kyle O’Rourke added a 1-yard score for the Terriers (1-0).

Logan Bean went six yards for Milton’s score late in the fourth quarter.

* Otter Valley 42, BFA-Fairfax 14: Mike Winslow rushed for four touchdowns and Otter Valley used a physical defense in a blowout win over visiting BFA-Fairfax in Div. III action.

Winslow ran for 186 yards on 24 carries, while running the ball into the end zone from 1, 13, 30 and 36 yards for the Otters (1-1). In total, Otter Valley gained 363 yards on the ground.

BFA-Fairfax (1-1) scored in the second quarter, a 47-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cam Place to Logan Langley, and again at the end of the game on a 31-yard run by Luke Langelier.

The Otter Valley defense limited the Bullets to 104 total rushing yards and 73 passing yards in a strong defensive effort.

* Lyndon 47, North Country 22: Josh Guyer ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries and Lyndon scored on four of its five first-half possessions to run past North Country.

James Shufelt added 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns and Matt Valentine had 50 yards on the ground and another score for Lyndon (2-0).

Ryan O’Donnell threw for 275 yards for North Country (0-2).

* Windsor 68, Mount St. Joseph 42: Ethan Hill ran for 383 yards and scored six touchdowns to lead host Windsor over Mount St. Joseph in a Div. III matchup.

Hill carried the ball 28 times and scored on runs of 9, 35, 17, 62 and 37 yards and caught a 23-yard touchdown pass.

MSJ quarterback Collin Gilbert passed for four touchdowns and ran for another. He had scoring passes of 18, 64 and 37 to Jonah Farrow and 47 yards to Zach Lanzillo. In the first quarter he found no one to throw to and ran it in from the 30.

* Mill River 41, Poultney 8: Led by a strong performance from senior Mark Goyette, Mill River handed an injury-plagued Poultney team its second loss in Div. III football action.

Goyette ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries and connected on scoring passes of 25 and 24 yards for the Minutemen (2-0).

Jacob Cook rushed the ball in from 1 yard out for Poultney’s only score of the game.
