Ridgewood athletes were recognized in several fall sports as the All-Inter Valley Conference teams recently were announced.
Teams were selected by coaches in the conference.
Two Generals grabbed top honors in volleyball as Laura Crawford earned player of the year accolades and Kayla Crozier was chosen as the coach of the year, leading Ridgewood to a 16-0 record in the IVC.
Laura Frazee and Amanda Lowery joined Crawford on the first team, Erika Michael made second team and Morgan McDorman earned honorable mention.
Ryan Lowe, Garrett Bethel and Tommy Layman were first-team selections in football. Jake Eckleberry and Laken Bluck made the second team and Jared Lindig and Tevis Whitt were honorable mention selections
Malvern’s Cobin Plessinger was named the football player of the year and Todd Shadle was coach of the year after leading the Hornets to the conference title with a 6-1 mark.
Nick Blakley was a second-team selection and Wesley Cochran earned honorable mention for the Ridgewood boys golf team.
Garaway’s Cooper Stutzman was voted player of the year and Hiland’s Austin Kaufman was named coach of the year.
Ridgewood’s Samantha Wilson and Kaitlyn Finton made the second team in girls golf.
Garaway’s Ashleigh Rothacher earned player of the year honors, and Strasburg’s Josh Metz was selected as the coach of the year.
Jessica McCoun was the lone Ridgewood representative in girls cross country, being named to the second team.
Garaway earned all the top honors in cross country. Chuck Zobel was the coach of the year for boys and girls, Alex Shrock earned the boys runner of the year and Rachel Wentworth collected the girls runner of the year award.
