The regional final baseball game between the Ripon Tigers and Wisconsin Dells Chiefs went tit for tat on Wednesday.
Ripon would score, Wisconsin Dells would answer right back.
Unfortunately, the Tigers wouldn’t be able to answer the run they needed to.
The Chiefs scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to dispatch the Tigers 5-4 in a WIAA Division 2 regional final at Wisconsin Dells.
Ripon scored two runs in the first and single runs in the second and fourth innings. However, Wisconsin Dells match edeach of Ripon’s totals, never allowing the Tigers to take a full on lead.
“We hit the ball as well as we had all year,” Ripon coach Dan Jonas said. “Top to the bottom, we were aggressive at the plate and took charge. We just had a couple opportunities that we missed out on.”
Those missed opportunites cost the Tigers, as the Chiefs put the final tally in the last inning to end the Tigers season.
