Riverside’s Jonathan Hardee played the first two rounds at 2-under par, finishing at 142, to take a one-shot lead over Fort Dorchester’s R.J. Keur in the 75th Kiwanis South Carolina Class AAAA state golf tournament at the Furman University Golf Course Monday.
Zak Butt of Ashley Ridge is three shots back at 145, followed by Trevor Phillips of Boiling Springs at 146, Cabrick Waters of Gaffney at 147 and Trace Crowe of Easley at 148.
Boiling Springs leads the team competition, having carded a 611. South Aiken is second at 620 and Easley is third at 623. Ashley Ridge is fourth at 626, with Riverside and Byrnes tied for fifth at 627.
The final round is scheduled for today.
* Greenville’s Keenan Huskey fired a 1-under par 71 Monday to take the first-round lead in the Class AAA state tournament at The Hackler Course on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway.
Huskey has a two-shot lead over Andrew Orischak of Hilton Head. Cory Thompson of Eastside and Alan Crum of St. James are four shots back at 75.
Travelers Rest’s Zack Bishop and Palmetto’s Marschall Looper are in a group of six golfers tied for eighth at 77.
Hilton Head leads the team competition with 313, two shots ahead of both A.C. Flora and St. James. Socastee is next at 320, followed by Wren at 321, TR and Hartsville at 322, Eastside at 325 and Greenville at 326.
The final round is scheduled to begin today at 8 a.m.
