Jansen Roberson pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout as Rossview hammered Springfield in a District 10-AAA baseball game Wednesday night.
Roberson struck out 14 batters and was helped along the way by a Truman Brown home run. Brown also had two singles and finished with two RBIs. Jeremy Gonzalez also drove in a pair of runs. The Hawks scored six runs in the fourth inning to blow the game open.
Bradley’s week earns OVC award
Austin Peay junior Anthony Bradley, who captured medalist honors at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate this week, has been named Ohio Valley Conference adidas® Male Co-Golfer of the Week.
The Ivybridge, Devon (England), native fired rounds of 69-68-72 to finish at 4-under 209, capturing the event by two shots at the RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark. He topped a field of 112 competitors. Bradley had 10 birdies and an eagle during the two-day event.
Bradley is currently tied for third in the OVC in stroke average (72.8). This marks his second OVC Golfer of the Week honor of the year and is the sixth time–and fourth week in a row.
Hole In One
Mickey Phillips picked up a hole in one during a recent golf outing at Swan Lake Golf Course March 21.
Phillips used a 9-iron on the Par-3, No. 13 from 110 yards away. His witnesses included Stanley Bumpus, Dave Phillips and Bill Crocker.
