Junior guard Taylor Gerhart scored a game-high 16 points to go with 12 rebounds and three assists as the Wardlaw-Hartridge girls basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Highland Park 45-32 in a Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division game on Wednesday in Highland Park.
Vanessa Santana added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists and Camille Menns posted nine points and nine rebounds for the Rams (6-6), who outscored Highland Park 17-6 in the fourth quarter.
Lexus Blocker scored 14 points to lead the Owls (3-8) while Dierra Doyle added 10.
Timothy Christian 43, South River 35: Hannah Saquian scored 12 points, Natasha Audain posted 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Michaela Csorny recorded 10 points to lead Timothy Christian (9-1). Lubica Zfovski netted 13 points and Alyssa Barry had 12 for South River (6-9).
Dunellen 52, South Amboy 23: Kerry Johnson led all scorers with 18 points for Dunellen (8-3) while Jackie VonItter added nine points for the Destroyers. Beth Kudelka finished with 12 ponits to lead South Amboy (4-7).
Piscataway Tech 45, East Brunswick Tech 35: Zakema Griswell scored 28 points for Piscataway Tech (3-8) while L’Tanya Peacock added nine as the Raiders pulled out to a quick 13-2 lead after the first quarter. Jodie Janas led all scorers with 31 points in a losing effort for East Brunswick Tech (0-9).
J.F. Kennedy 55, Middlesex 42: Tori Schweyer scored 17 points to lead Middlesex (6-4) while Gianna Guarino added 13 points in the loss. Brittany Washington led all scorers with 18 points and 17 rebounds for J.F. Kennedy (11-0), who used a 19-5 second quarter to open up the game after trailing by three.
