Carmel quarterback Connor Marden was named the MTAL Back of the Year and Jake Speed of Pacific Grove was selected Offensive Player of the Year by a vote of the seven league coaches.
Marden, a junior, passed for 2,194 yards and 19 touchdowns and ran for 816 yards and 13 more scores during the 10-game regular season.
Speed accounted for 23 touchdowns – eight rushing, 13 receiving and two kickoff returns.
He ran for 456 yards and eight touchdowns and caught 38 passes for 850 yards and a Monterey County best 13 touchdowns.
Jose Martinez of Soledad was the Defensive Player of the Year, Zach Brown of Pacific Grove was Lineman of the Year, Rudy Amezcua of Greenfield was the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship winner and Carmel coach Golden Anderson was Coach of the Year.

San Francisco City 100, Hartnell 71: At Hartnell, San Francisco City lived up to its, ranked No. 1 state ranking by beat the Panthers.
San Francisco led 54-26 at halftime as the Panthers dropped to 0-3. Leading scorers for Hartnell were Kyle Vasher with 33 points, Jake Amijo with 20, Jacob Juras with 17 and Lamar Akiken with 9.
Hartnell is home Saturday to play Los Positias at 5 p.m.
