Garrett Hampson beat the regulation buzzer with a 3-pointer and then nailed another in overtime to help lift Reno High to an 82-78 victory over visiting Reed on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies went on a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter to take a nine-point lead, but needed Hampson’s heroics at the end of regulation to earn a season sweep of Reed.

Conner Bush led Reno with 22 points and Justin Crow chipped in 11.

Trae Wells paced the Raiders with 25 points, while Alonzo Vega added 13.

Boys basketball

DAMONTE RANCH 69, BISHOP MANOGUE 61 at Manogue: David Crowley scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Mustangs. Kyle Daugherty (12) and Nick Solano (10) were also in double-digits.

The Miners’ James Sandoval and Anthony Salerno each scored 16 points.

HUG 65, McQUEEN 56 at Hug: The Hawks improved to 15-5 (8-2 High Desert) behind Sam Williams’ game-high 21 points.

McQueen was led by Kody Eckert’s 20 points. Bryce Harnack added 16.

PERSHING COUNTY 57, DAYTON 36 at Lovelock: Terrell Callao-George led the Mustangs with 10 points.

Teammate Layne Chambers hit a pair of 3-pointers, finishing with eight points. Jayson Fraser scored 12 points for the Dust Devils.

SPARKS 64, TRUCKEE 45 at Truckee: Darius Devin scored 21 points, leading the Railroaders. Mike Albior and Geo Vasquez both finished with 11 points. The Wolverines’ Adam Morgan scored 18 points.

GALENA 54, CARSON 44 at Galena: Caleb Wood scored 22 points, including all three of the Grizzlies’ 3-pointers, and Galena (18-3, 8-1) made its early 10-point lead stand up.

Max Erickson and Kirk Gunderson each added 11 points for the Grizzles.

For Carson, Rafferty King scored 16.

LEGACY 75, ELKO 67 at Las Vegas: The Indians came up just short against the Division I Longhorns in the Battle Born Tournament.

Nathan Klekas scored 22 points to lead Elko (14-3). Brian Pearson added 17.

PYRAMID LAKE 76, MINERAL COUNTY 53 at Nixon: John Barlese hit four 3-pointers en route to scoring 29 points to lead the Lakers.

Sam Harry also made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Austin Milks scored 17 points for the Serpents.

NORTH TAHOE 60, INCLINE 50 at Tahoe City: In what was believed to be the Lakers’ first win over the Highlanders in 10 years, Colin Spencer scored a game-high 22 points, shooting 12-for-12 at the free-throw line.

Alex Tyler added 18 points. Jack Clouthier and Ben Snyder each scored 14 points for the Highlanders.

DOUGLAS 66, WOOSTER 43 at Minden: James Herrick scored 14 points, helping the Tigers to win over the Colts.

Hunter Myers (13) and Austin Evans (10) finished in double-digit scoring. JJ Harloff scored 12 points for Wooster.

Girls basketball

CARSON 35, GALENA 30 at Galena: Savannah Smith scored 10 points to lead the Senators in a close game.

For Galena (4-10, 2-4), Paige Brown scored 11 points.

McQUEEN 65, HUG 55 at Hug: The Lancers’ Christina Farman scored 16 points to lead a balanced offense.

Emma White added 15 points for McQueen, with teammate Eunice Aiyuk adding 13.

For Hug (2-8), Mele Lotulelei scored a game-high 17 points.

SPANISH SPRINGS 49, NORTH VALLEYS 30 at North Valleys: Hannah Woytek scored 16 points and Riley Holladay added 15 to lead the Cougars. Each hit a pair of 3-pointers. Haley Bowen scored 13 to lead the Panthers.

On Friday, North Valleys rallied from five points down with four minutes to go to beat Hug, 46-42. Bowen scored 21 points. Christen Voyles had 20 points for Hug.

DOUGLAS 51, WOOSTER 43 at Wooster: Diana Regaldo scored 16 points to lead the Tigers, who led 23-7 at the end of the first quarter.

For Wooster (5-13, 0-10), Trisha Christy scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

PERSHING COUNTY 65, DAYTON 30 at Lovelock: Melissa Gonzalez had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Mustangs. For Dayton, Maribel Ledezma had 11 points.
