Tuesday at midday, two Rutland Hurricanes made their decisions official.
Brittany Davis and Miranda Rousey are going to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Rousey played catcher and infield corners for the Canes. She hit .412 in the postseason, helping lead Rutland to the Elite 8.
Davis is an all-region, all-state centetfielder. She averaged .435 in the fall and will suit up to play in the North South All Star game this summer.
Across town, FPD’s Jenna Byrd is heading to Tifton as well after lifting the Lady Vikings to the Region 7A tournament title in 2012.
Byrd leaves the Vikings with the career record for home runs, inning pitched, ERA and wins, which is more impressive because she did all this despite 3 ACL tears.
The Fillies head coach Donna Campbell says this a great time for these players to compete right away. They only return 4 starters to the junior college.
