DaiJia Ruffin shot 10 of 16 from the floor en route to a game-high 26 points as host Sacred Heart got past Pleasure Ridge Park 52-42 Wednesday in high school girls’ basketball.
Ruffin also had 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
The win was the fifth in a row for Sacred Heart (20-5), No. 16 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings. Kelsey Wells had 16 points and four assists for the Panthers (20-6).
* Bullitt Central 53, Spencer County 34: Emily Ratliff, Kayla Riggs and Selena Yunt each had nine points as the Cougars (8-16) beat the Bears (10-14).
Boys
* Male 56, Brown 20: The visiting Bulldogs (18-5) had 10 players score, and their starters did not play after the first quarter in a rout of the Bears (3-16).
Jalen Baker came off the bench and put up a team-high 12 points for the No. 19 Bulldogs.
* Spencer County 73, Bullitt Central 54: Brandon Miller scored a game-high 21 points as the Bears (12-12) trounced the host Cougars (9-15).
* North Bullitt 76, Evangel 42: North Bullitt (13-12) allowed only 13 first-half points in beating Evangel (4-15). Jarred George finished with 27 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals for North Bullitt.
